Discpline, engaging the teacher and students, giving direction, asking questions, tailoring presentations to meet the needs of students and teachers, handling issues with language and reading skills, distinguishing between active learning and disruptive/inattentive behavior.
Module 6: Teaching Tips
Preparing to teach a lesson, the different ways in which children learn, responding to personal questions from students, and team teaching.
Module 7: Student Characteristics
Examples of inner-city, suburban, and alternative schools, afterschool programs, socio-economic differences among schools and students, and age appropriate behavior.
