2011-2012 Updates

1. There is an updated version of the JA Finance Park Guide for Teachers that matches the 2011-2012 edition of the Student Workbook. 

The updated Guide for Teachers will be delivered to all JA Finance Park teachers at your school with the student workbook delivery.

2.  Delaware Content Standards for Personal Financial Literacy

The JA Finance Park curriculum meets a majority of the new standards.  There are two supplemental lessons plans available for download that will address Standard Two 9-12 b. and Standard Four.

The lesson plans are password protected. See the insert in the front pocket of the JA Finance Park Guide for Teachers for your ID and password.

9-12b: Students will examine how ability to pay and personal credit history influences an individual’s financial opportunities and choices.

Personal Finance Standard Four  -- Risk Protection
Risks are associated with life and unplanned events can have serious or catastrophic financial consequences over which an individual may have little control. A citizen with the knowledge and skills to evaluate financial products can prevent or limit loss.

9-12a: Students will understand how to evaluate financial products and services to minimize financial risks.

9-12b:  Students will analyze how state and federal laws and regulations protect consumers.
